Messenger Status
This page reflects current operational status of the Windows Live (MSN) Messenger service and software.
NOTE: May 20, 2017 – Messenger is no longer available using Messenger Reviver 2 as Microsoft’s final Messenger server has been taken offline as of May 18th. Please see the post on the discontinuation of Messenger Reviver 2 for more information and a tribute.
You can also continue to use older versions of MSN Messenger on a non-Microsoft server. Learn about how to use the Escargot server project and sign in.
If you have not already revived your Messenger client, you will need Messenger Reviver 2 to sign in to the service.

Is there any way to remove groups?
I have two groups. One of them was made by Buterfly messenger as a test.
The other participiants already signed out from the groups.
If I want to visit the group clicking on it in WLM, then it opens a new browser tab with onedrive. But it says something like, It looks like the content was deleted or you have no permission.
Is there any way to remove those dead groups?
I didin’t find any option in WLM nor in Butterfly Messenger.

Hello Jonathan
In the old Messenger there was a Privacy button under Settings where I could figure out which contact removed me from his/her list (right clicking on the contact name and seeing that I can remove him/her). This option is no longer available in Live Messenger 2012. Any idea where/how I can get back that information?

Even when Messenger 2009 (the last version with the Privacy tab) was still working, the information about who removed you was incorrect due to changes to the server and protocol in 2011. So, I’m afraid that even if you could bring back the Privacy tab, what would be shown would be useless.
Hey, Jonathan. I am going to copy and paste a comment here that has already been done by Stern in September 17, 2015, but you haven’t answered so far. I am really interested in a reply of yours to this one question, so I would be glad if you could give any response to this matter:

How well do you know the structure behind Windows Live and the servers? I mean, you was able to redirect older clients to use a specified server.
My question is, could it be possible to create a similar network as windows live but with own servers?
Then you could redirect the client with your reviver program to use the “new network” and we could create a network as a shadow copy of the original.
Then if Microsoft decides finally kill MSNP21 we only should switch to our own network.
Would it be possible to configure a windows live network copy with own servers?”
I’ve been using the internet since early years of 2000 (yeah, I know, I am not that old), and I truly believe that MSN Messenger/Windows Live Messenger has always been the best messenger ever. I think if Microsoft had adapted fast to the mobile universe, it would still exist. Skype has it’s calling purpose, but besides that, it sucks. MSN in the other hand, man, that was so much fun.
I would be really happy if you could give any insight in this question, made by Stern.

bonsoir,j’utilise actuellement windows live messenger 2012 et j’aurais émais pouvoir avoir accer a facebook pour mes contacte facebook,car j’ai vu qu’il y avais la fonction facebook mes quand on clic dessu on ne poeux pas avoir accer,ce qui cerais trés bien sa cerais que l’on ce penche sur ce probléme car avoir accer a facebook part l’intermédiere de windows live messenger cerais un plus grand bien,parce que en ce moment j’utilise facebook messenger en attendant une solution,car avoir cette fonction sa éviterais d’avoir plusieur logiciel,comme on dit faire le tout en un c’est mieux pour évité d’avoir plusieur logiciel.je vous demande donc de bien vouloir faire le necessaire merci.
